SMC Celebrates the Graduation Ceremony of 55 Women in IC3

Released on: 06/03/2016 Salalah Methanol Company (SMC) celebrated on the 6th of March, 2016 the graduation of 55 women from a Training Program in Computer (IC3) funded by the Company as part of its corporate social responsibilities (CSR) programs.
The ceremony was held under the auspices of HE Engineer/ Mohammed Abu Baker Al Ghassani, Dupty Chairperson of the Shoura Council and Salalah representative of the Shoura Council and attended by a number of officials.
This particular training program lasted for 5 weeks at Raisut School for Girls and was provided by “Dhofar International Centre for Training and Qualification (DICTQ). The training was launched on the 17th of October, 2015 coinciding with Omani Womens’ Day.
This training for employment program was fully funded by SMC and all related expenses to ensure the success of such programs. With the coordination of the Ministry of Manpower and companies belonging to the private sector, each graduate secures a job according to the specialized training he received. The program focused on a number of specializations such as forklifting, mechanical maintenance, production supervisor and machine operator.
Awadh bin Hassan Al Shanfri, Salalah Methnaol Company MD, said that the Company stives to support and build human resources believing that training is one of the main pillars of sustainability which results in provided jobs suitable for Omani youth, which in return helps build this country. He assured that the Company continues to invest in Omanis based on the belief that sustainability is all about investing in humans, caring for the environment and developing the economy.
