Salalah Methanol Company Hosted Students from Salalah Nursing Institute

Released on: 08/04/2015 As a part of site visit awareness, Salalah Methanol Company (SMC) hosted a number of students from Salalah Nursing Institute on Wednesday April 8, 2015. The visit aimed to publicize the Social activities programs of the Company and to encircle the cooperation between Salalah Methanol Company and the surrounding communities in both Private and public sectors, in order to achieve the balance process in the Education fields.
Moreover, the purpose was to introduce the students to the systems and tools that the company use in the production process of Methanol and introduce them to the different departments in the Company and how they function according to the latest use of the tools and systems.
The visit started with a brief presentation about Salalah Methanol Company. Later there was an explanation about what Corporate Social Responsibility means to SMC, which portrayed the importance of Environmental, Social and Economic areas especially in the Education sector. In addition, there was a clarification about the Safety, Health and Security in the workplace. SMC provide a healthy, hygiene environment for its employees in the work place and emphasis on the importance of working without causing Lost Time Incidents (LTI).
After the presentation, there were a visit to the plant; the students entered the control room and the labs. There were explanations about the utilities that the Company and the factory used in the production process. The types of tools of labs were explained in detail and that reflect the high quality of tools that the Company has.
At the end of the visit, the administration of Salalah Nursing Institute and the students expressed their appreciation for the efforts of SMC employees and the cooperation between SMC and the community.
