Closing of Handicraft Training Program

Released on: 23/06/2014 Salalah Methanol Company (SMC) celebrated along with the Omani Women’s Association in Sadah the closing of the training program for 20 women in the field of handicrafts made from fronds. SMC funds such programs based on its believe in the importance of empowering women, and in their role in the development of society. Furthermore, the aim is to develop and build human capacity including women in the field of handicraft skills and products.
Awadh Al Shanfari, CEO of SMC said that the company greatly contributes in various Corporate Social Responsibility projects which aim to directly support the local society. This support in return reflects positively on the locals. He also mentioned that company aims to empower women and provide them with the training, education, support and skills to enable her to become an effective partner in society.
